In a recent interview with New York magazine, Diane von Furstenberg said that she felt her brand had lost its identity in the past few seasons and that she therefore saw this season as one of her most important to date. Fittingly, she took the finale bow solo after her Fall 2013 collection walked the runway.
The season brought, as one might imagine given the designer's desire to return to her brand's core, a slew of wrap dresses. The 70s touches didn't stop there, however. The collection was rife with vibrant prints, colorblocking and halter tops — all of which were fashioned into the designer's signature slinky dresses, separates and jumpsuits. In a testament to DVF's pulse on the modern, none of the looks, even the most wildly printed and metallic, felt dated.
