Mary Katrantzou Fall 2013 Runway Review

For Fall 2013, the designer’s photo prints were inspired by landscape images, many done in black and white. What’s fantastic about Katrantzou is that she doesn’t rely on her visually stunning prints to give her clothes impact, rather she’s constantly innovating with shapes and proportions. That said, not all of the shapes and proportions shown were flattering (think oversized and rounded shoulders/arms and dresses cut to be wide around the hips), but one would imagine they will be edited for retail. Most successful were the designer’s bell sleeve dresses, sculpted sleeveless dresses and floor length skirts.
