Tom Ford Fall 2013 Runway Review

Titled “Cross Cultural Multi Ethnic,” the collection was a sea of colorful prints (tribal, animal), embroidery, fringe and beading. Fall 2013 was, for the most part, loud to a fault in large part due to the styling which gave some of the clashing print looks an almost cartoonish tint. It’s painful to say because the intricacy in the collection was absolutely stunning — even the zippers on the jackets were gorgeous. And while more is not always more, it must be said that the fit of every one of the pieces was faultless. Further, when things were toned down — like with a popped color fringe coat and with two black and white fur outerwear pieces  — there was much to love.  Everything else…has editorial written all over it.
