Prada Fall 2013 Runway Review

Miuccia Prada's collection this season was one of her most wearable to date. That's not to say that it was overly commercial or boring, instead it was full of looks that just looked easy. The ease of her relaxed off-the-shoulder dresses, slouchy sweaters, asymmetrical hemmed skirts and belted skirt suits was hammered home with the relaxed beauty look created for the show: wet-looking hair that made it appear as though the models had all just taken a shower.

That said, most of the fabrics used were sturdy, giving a toughness to the collection despite the artfully disheveled styling. Forearms were a focal point with a number of outerwear pieces finished with plush fur. Skirts too were prominently featured, as they usually are in Prada's collections, and this season they were fashioned to hit around knee level. A check print, metallics and multicolored tweed further livened up many looks.

There's little doubt that the designer's off-the-shoulder belted dresses will be on the red carpet any day now…
