A LITTLE PIECE OF MIND

Believe it or not Giles Deacon, Luella Bartley, PPQ, Orla Kiely, Bill Amberg, Hussein Chalayan, Stephen Jones, Eley Kishimoto and Alice Temperley are just some of the famous fashion world names getting crafty for new art project ‘A Little Piece Of Mind’.

The brainchild of creative studio Marque, the initiative has seen various artists and designers contribute a square to a series of patchwork quilts – either by sending a unique swatch designed using a template, or donating material to be used to create a swatch, or by submitting a work of animation or photography for a further, special digital quilt – which will ultimately be auctioned off to raise money for homeless charities Shelter in the UK and the Bowery Mission in the US.

The quilts will go on display in both London and New York prior to being
auctioned, with each designer square remaining unsigned so that the quilt
as an entire art piece (and, of course, the charities and their cause),
remains the focus of the project.

Following a VIP preview on April 9, the quilts will be on public display until April 15 at the Huntingdon Project Space, 28 Redchurch Street, London E2 7DP – be sure to take a look.
