My love for Henry Holland was recently revved-up when MIA performed at the Grammy’s, despite being nine months pregnant. The singer took the stage in a sheer House of Holland Spring Summer 2009 number that covered her belly and breasts with over-sized white dotes – absolutely genius.

I should also add that I though MIA pulled it off better than Holland’s partner in crime Agyness Deyn.

As for the designer’s latest collection it was inspired by Pantone color cards and therefore had lots of color-blocking – a trend we’ve already seen pop up in New York Fashion Week. The styling – with its brightly hued stockings and black lipstick – also played into many of the already established Fall/Winter 2009 trends.

Appropriately enough, Aggy opened the show — in a jacket and skinny pant printed in bands of green and white paired with green stockings and shoes – and closed in an outfit of the same color scheme.

Holland’s best pieces were the knits and silks — the banded motif didn’t translate as well into the shaggy lamb wool pieces nor did the outfits with geometric detailing on the shoulder or bottoms work as well.

That said overall, the collection was fun and cohesive and perfectly topped off with bold Katie Hillier jewelry.
