Here’s an exclusive sneak peek at Christian Westphal’s Fall 2009 collection, entitled “Transcendent Black.” Inspired by thoughts of a rainy laidback Sunday, Westphal adds an unexpected playful element to his body of work.
This element is best exemplified by the innovative pair of jeans created in Japan. They perfectly encompass the contrast of shiny and matte structures used in the monochromatic collection of black and white. The subdued color palette offers more space to focus on details without looking overworked. This results in a collection that exhibits excellent tailoring and innovative cuts, while still maintaining its wearability.
