Learning Leaders, a NYC nonprofit organization, recently kicked off and wrapped-up their first ever Great School Volunteer Week in celebration of National Volunteer Week. The organization hosted events through Friday April 24th in public schools with help from corporate groups and NYC notables throughout the 5 boroughs.
On Friday, designer Tracy Reese visited two second grade classrooms at PS 242 in Harlem on to read the book “Ellie: The Perfect Dress For Me” and shared some of her designs with the students, including the pink dress worn by Michelle Obama on the People Magazine cover.
