ALEXANDER WANG S/S 2010

A number of his looks done in gray sweatshirt material – including tops, minis, and outerwear – took on cozy cocoon shapes and every look was styled with ripped knee-high athletic socks and brown sandal boots.

Wang’s requisite cut-offs, structured sweatshirts, use of sheer fabrics, and hot pants were all on display, but so were a number of looks that played with paneling and original cut-outs (there was a even one mini with a cut-out around the belly button, the first of its kind I’ve seen).

Wang excelled best when it came to his draped cocktail numbers. One look in particular – an off white dress that mixed drape and structure and a side cut-out for an almost of-the-shoulder look – was particularly covetable.
