FASHION WEEK AROUND THE CORNER

It’s hard to believe that pretty soon we will be gearing-up for another Fashion Week season. Word came via email just a few days ago that registration is in fact already open for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2010 Collections, which this year are taking place from February 11th to the 18th.  Let’s just hope the temperatures heat-up a bit before that time roles around! Of course, the official sechedule of who will be showing when and where is far from being finalized, but news is already trickling in about city shuffling.

According to Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey – who made the announcement while accepting his award for the Bristish Fashion Council Designer of the Year award at the British Fashion Awards annual gala – Burberry will show its Prorsum women’s collection in London for Fall 2010. This follows the move from Milan to London last season for the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week in September. Bailey remarked that London is Burberry’s home and global headquarters, adding “we are thrilled to be showing again in this, our magnificent and creative city.”

As for the BFC awards, they were actually part of London Fashion Week’s ongoing 25th Anniversary celebration, and hosted by Lauren Laverne. Burberry was also awarded the Designer Brand of the Year.
