Celebrity Stylist Joey Tierney Shares Summer Style Tips and Award Season Predictions

Joey-TierneyIf there's one stylist A-list celebs have on speed dial, it's Joey Tierney. The fashion guru got her start touring with Britney Spears, for her "Oops I Did it Again" and "Dream Within a Dream" world tours, and since then has styled countless leading ladies. Not to name drop or anything, but Joey has worked with top stars like Revenge's Ashley Madekwe, Emmy award-winner Jaime Pressly, Kristen Bell, Diana Agron, Natasha Bedingfield, reality TV star Audrina Patridge, and more.

The busy stylist took some time out of her day to chat end of summer style and award show predictions with us. Read on for her top tips!

theFashionSpot: We're in the middle of the summer and a lot of women are probably feeling a little bored with their wardrobe. What's a fun way to switch up your look while working with what you already have in your closet? 

Joey Tierney: There is an app called Stylebook which is perfect for finding a new way to switch up your look with the clothes you already have. All you have to do is photograph your wardrobe and then you are able to mix and match what you already have and create new looks.

tFS: What's your best stay-cool-but-look-cool style tip for summer? 

JT: Hats are great. It is a cool accessory that will keep you out of the blazing sun.

tFS: What trends are you loving this season? 

JT: I am obsessed with high-waisted bottoms and crop-tops!

tFS: You've styled a lot of celebs! What is your number one piece of style advice you give them? 

JT: I always tell them to take the time necessary for proper tailoring to ensure a perfect fit.

tFS: What's a summer trend you can buy now but make last all year long? 

JT: I'm a big fan of boyfriend blazers, when styled properly they work all year round.

tFS: Award season is so close. Whose style are you most excited to see? Also, any style predictions for the season ahead? 

JT: There is something about Angelina Jolie that always intrigues me, and I am excited to see her. I wouldn't be surprised to see women in tuxedos because pantsuits are so on trend this fall!
