According to Stacey Bendet, white is the new black and so there was plenty of it in the Spring 2014 Alice + Olivia lineup. From separates and dresses to outerwear and accessories, the bulk of the designer’s collection was done in neutral tones. In fact, while there were certainly embellished pieces, in keeping with the palette, the best looks were the more understated and streamlined ones.
A knock-out cropped sleeve jean jacket, roomy leather pants, print pantsuits, floor length print skirts paired with simple collared tops and collarless sharply cut blazers all made for surprsingly grown-up looks. Also in the mix were lace party dresses, colorfully embellished cropped jackets and print cardigans for a collection that had something to offer the preppy set, the girly set and the more sophisticated set all at the same time.
