London Fashion Week: Inside the Designers’ Showrooms

One thing was quite clear: making a statement is most definitely key. Show-stopping footwear comes in a range of eye-popping colours, glamorous embellishments and innovative shapes. We particularly loved the bold and funky heels by designer Kat Maconie, which made a statement with colour, whereas Kerrie Luft’s heels screamed for attention with their innovative forms.

Designer Imogen Belfield was showcasing edgy golden rings that were joined by a chain (we know it sounds a bit knuckle duster-ish, but it really did look cool). We’re sure that Melanie Georgacopoulos is set to become the new queen of statement necklaces as oversized pieces were key, and would certainly become the focal point of any outfit.

We finished our day off by taking a look inside this season’s special pop-up shop, and we’ve got to admit that we were left a tad disappointed. It was a lot smaller than we expected which didn’t help the unfriendly staff situation… Probably not the best environment to encourage a purchase. There were a few cool pieces, though, which included colourful House of Holland fake nails, trendy sweaters by Bella Freud, and some trendy heels by Sophia Webster. The shop is open to the public for a few days after Fashion Week finishes, but in all honesty, it’s probably not really worth going out of your way to visit.
