News & Runway

There were many exciting collaborations and line expansions this year including ones from Alexander Wang, Matthew Williamson, and Jimmy Choo, but Lindsay Lohan may very likely go down as the most unfortunate person involved in both arenas when it comes to fashion in 2009. Her disastrous collaboration with Emanuel Ungaro aside, the troubled actress has recently expanded her leggings brand 6126 into a contemporary apparel collection that will launch for fall 2010 (and more extensions, including cosmetics, handbags, shoes, and jewelry are slated for 2011 – dear lord!).

How did the news break? In true professional style via Twitter, of course, where Lohan wrote – “i need MORE followers i am so sad about this, how can i tell everyone about my 6126 full collection COMING OUT! all clothing.” According to the principal of 6126 LLC, Kristi Kaylor, the leggings line has been amazingly successful (yes – people buying LL’s designs truly is amazing…), and the apparel will be manufactured by DNAM Apparel (who fittingly also produce Ed Hardy clothing).

The first 6126 apparel collection will be made-up of 100 items that will wholesale for between $18 for leggings to $300 for a leather jacket making average retail prices fall between $100 and $150. The retail outlets that currently stock the leggings, which include Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Harrods, Lane Crawford, and Kitson Japan will all reportly stock the collection.
