American Vogue fell under scrutiny back in February 2013 after a feature entitled “Storm Troupers” regarding Hurricane Sandy was published inside the magazine. Annie Leibovitz captured a bunch of models who are seen parading around the disaster zone donning thousand dollar dresses and posing alongside the New York City Fire Department and various other members of the relief effort. The feature was slammed for being of “poor taste” and was viewed as glamorizing an event which resulted in a number of casualties and deaths. Check out all six images of “Storm Troupers” here.
