New York Fashion Week Fall 2015 Hits and Misses: Part 1 (Forum Buzz)

It may be freezing cold in New York City, but Fashion Week is heating up. Emerging designers and under-the-radar talents caught forum members’ attention in a good way, while established brands and Kanye West induced more than a few eye rolls. Something worth noting? Alexander Wang’s collection made it onto our misses, but it easily could have been on our list of hits as well. Opinions were that divided in the forums. Nonetheless, here’s a roundup of our best and worst so far.

“I’m counting the days to see these guys finally blow up big time. Easily one of the most exciting brands in NY. Another great collection here. They nail this downtown sophistication look.” [Marc10]

“This collection dives under the radar way too quickly. It deserves much more attention. Gorgeous lines. I specifically [mean] the shirtdress reinterpretations. Flawless showing, very modern.” [Vitamine W]

“Such a refreshing and chic NY collection, very very lovely.” [Riseup]

Tess Giberson

“Some wonderful pieces here: winter white, layers, textures, asymmetry – and she almost makes me want to wear flares again.” [Not Plain Jane]

“I really am quite fond of it…it’s a bit different for Tess but something about it makes me think of Charlotte Rampling in the 70s.” [Scott]

“OMG…her best in ages…maybe her best ever…love this like crazy!” [softgrey]

“Felt this was very referential throughout but I couldn’t help loving it. So chic.” [MyNameIs]

“Oh my god, I LOVE this. Love love love. I want it all.” [vandekamp]

“The collection is beautiful, excellently crafted, and without doubt will sell well.” [Dutchhie]
