Milan Fashion Week Fall 2015 Hits and Misses: Part 2 (Forum Buzz)

THE MISSES:

Roberto Cavalli

“His worst collection in years. Possibly ever.” [valliaddict]

“I don’t think it’s his worst ever. I thought it was not as bad as FW12, but that’s a bit like saying ‘bird flu is not as bad as ebola’ – both are terrible.” [rosalynn]

“I wished I’d never seen this trash.” [FashionFanatico]

Dolce & Gabbana

“Cliché kitsch. This was very cheap with the kids and the paintings by kids on the clothing.” [Nymphaea]

“Nice in theory, but terrible execution. Most of the collection was literally the same three-quarter sleeve dress but with different drawings on them. What was the point of having more than 90 looks?” [orchidee]

“You know ten years ago I would’ve laughed in your face if you’d told me that ‘cloyingly sweet’ would ever be a phrase one could’ve used to describe anything with the Dolce & Gabbana name attached to it. Sexy, yes. Romantic, sure. Feminine, absolutely. But this is a pure, unadulterated cheese…well, one in a long line I suppose. I’m just way too cynical for this girlish crap that’s been going on in fashion. Stunted development may be the new black but I’m so not into it.” [Spike413]

Bottega Veneta

“I’m confused by this collection, it doesn’t make sense. The cast, styling and makeup are also giving me a headache. Who is this woman supposed to be?” [Vitamine W]

“There are some nice pieces, but a lot of this is dowdy and not pretty. There’s too much polka dots and the styling isn’t good.” [squilliam]

“I love [Tomas] Maier‘s work…he’s one of the best to me, but this collection was one of his worst in recent times. Of course there’s the odd good look, but it’s pretty hard to identify those amongst the hideous styling.” [Fiercification]
