Polo matches, museum galas, movie screenings. All call for A-list guests and runway looks. The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic drew a crowd of pretty ladies (including Joan Smalls and Leigh Lezark) in designer white dresses. Meanwhile, Gia Coppola hit The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles Gala in an edgy look and Emma Stone made it to a screening of Aloha in a swingy mini dress. Here’s a look at how the real life ensembles shaped up next to the runway styles.
Joan Smalls in Alexander Wang Spring 2015
For the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, Joan turned it up in a sporty white Alexander Wang dress. She veered from the runway styling with sandy, strappy heels and wore her hair sleek and down, rather than severely pulled back.
Clearly a fan, fashionlover2001 declared, “Stunning outfit. And soo appropriate for a polo match. She served it!”
Forum member nataliaapple had some complaints. “I don’t like this dress on Joan. Does nothing for her body,” she concluded. “I think it needs some tailoring, nips and tucks here and there especially around the armpit areas.”
While valliaddict was in agreement about the fit, he decided it didn’t really matter. “You’re right about the top not fitting her. That being said, she still looks gorgeous in her poorly fitted dress.” Let’s call that one of the perks of being a supermodel.
