As always, the Olsen twins are keeping themselves very busy. They are pretty much the only celebrity designers worth respecting for the design quality of their garments – along with Victoria Beckham.  The sisters, after having just launched an Elizabeth and James men’s wear line, have launched Olsenboye, a junior brand exclusive to J.C. Penney (it hit 600 stores on February 3rd).

Next up, the twin sisters will unveil their Fall/Winter 2010 The Row collection at their first fashion week presentation (they have previously only done market appointments), and then the launch of their first denim collection for their lower priced contemporary collection, Elizabeth and James.


I’m not a huge jean fanatic, but given how big of a fan I am of Elizabeth and James (despite the quality not being that amazing), I was looking forward to the collection. After seeing some preview images of the denim, however, I have to say that I’m a bit disappointed. I don’t like the mix in washes, or the wide and cropped cuts.


The collection is going by the name Textile Elizabeth and James, and is inspired by jeans from the girls’ closets.  Retail prices will be very steep, given that wholesale the jeans are selling for around $110. They will be launched at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and Intermix in March.
