These Internet-Famous Pets Earn Way More Money Than You

Becoming an internet sensation is a surefire way to increase a person’s chances of fame and fortune, or in this case, a pet’s chance. And you might be surprised just how much money some of the most internet-famous animals can make in a year.

Pets of the Net, an online calculator created by pet food brand Webbox, tells you exactly how much six of the most beloved and popular pets are earning compared to you — and we’re betting it’s a whole lot more than your hard-earned salary.

Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, earns the equivalent of 692 black Chanel 2.55 handbags annually — or a total of $3,808,000. With 114,000 followers on Instagram, Choupette rose to fame in 2012 when she started her modeling career in V magazine. Two years later, her book Choupette: The Private Life of a High Flying Fashion Cat was published. Not too shabby for a young cat.

Aside from Choupette, the calculator also shows the annual income of other influential animals.

Grumpy Cat, an internet meme, earns $12,693,333 a year.

Gigoo the Chicken, the millionaire heiress, earns $892,500 a year.

Insta-famous Doug the Pug earns $476,000 a year.

Keyboard Cat, who gained popularity through a viral video but had already passed away, still earns a whopping $95,200,000 a year!

And last but not the least, JiffPom, record-breaker for an animal with the most Instagram followers, earns $5,950,000 a year. That’s a whole lot of dog treats!
