Staying true to her signature look of downtown party looks that wow and pop at first glance, in this collection Martell expands her base by including garments that are not age-specific (although women still have to be in great shape to wear her clothes), and more red carpet looks. These clothes are not for the demure and retiring, but for that consumer who wants to make a statement at every turn.
While some designers like Christian Cota and Loris Diran are using the new technology of metallic fabrics interwoven into tweeds and cottons as separates, Martell takes the bold, risky move of creating an entire garment in this material. And she pulls it off like a dream.
