Versace Brings Back Jennifer Lopez’s Famous Green Dress for Pre-Fall 2019

Without a doubt, nostalgia is in. First, we were gifted the re-release of Marc Jacob’s famous grunge collection and now Versace heads down memory lane for its first Pre-Fall show in New York, which includes redesigned versions of some of its most iconic 90s looks.

The Pre-Fall 2019 show featured glossy, vinyl dresses, caps and bags in three different colors paired with chunky, retro sneakers.

It also included a contemporary version of the safety pin dress made famous by Elizabeth Hurley in 1994 (worn by Hurley lookalike, model Vittoria Ceretti).

The most special piece, however, was a heart-patterned flowy maxi dress that closely resembles the famous green dress-cut-down-to-there worn by Jennifer Lopez at the 2000 Grammys. Model Amber Valletta, who wore the original on the 1999 runway, wore the modernized version for Pre-Fall 2019.

Some celebrities that attended also kept with the vintage-inspired theme. Kim Kardashian was seen in a vintage-inspired Versace sparkling Swarovski metal mesh mini dress, while Blake Lively went for a vintage Versace Spring 1999 silver chainmail asymmetric dress.

The collection may have been a blast from the past, but Donatella Versace managed to modernize the looks for 2018. Take a look at the rest of the outfits that hit the runway and the celebrities that came out to support the show on Versace’s Instagram.
