Only 4 of the Top 11 Models of Fashion Month Fall 2019 Were Women of Color

What a difference a few weeks make. While almost all of the top 10 models of New York Fashion Week Fall 2019 were women of color, sadly, the same didn’t hold true when we factored in London, Milan and Paris. Actually, it was almost the complete opposite.

There were just four nonwhite models in this season’s top 11. (Adut Akech and Annibelis Baez, of South Sudanese and Dominican descent respectively, just missed the list with 29 shows apiece.) And only four models migrated from our New York list to this seasonal roundup. Clearly, four is not our lucky number.

Check out the slideshow above to see who racked up the most runway mileage for Fall 2019. And pray the list for Spring 2020 is much more diverse.

*This has been updated to include the Tommy Hilfiger show, which was not included in our original report.
