JONATHAN ADLER GOES FROM HOME TO FASHION

Call me biased because I think Simon Doonan and Jonathan Adler are the fashion world’s absolute cutest couple, but I get excited about any project that either of the two are involved in. While Doonan is keeping busy with all the Barneys New York Brooklyn expansions, Jonathan Adler has teamed with Seven For All Mankind to design a limited edition collection that will mark the first time the premium denim label has collaborated with an interior designer.

Aesthetically, the two seem like a perfect fit as their looks are both modern, sleek, and streamlined (and I’m sure Adler has picked up no shortage of tips along the way from his years spent around the fashion industry’s most powerful players). The line hits Seven For All Mankind branded stores in the U.S. next month (with a cocktail launch taking place on May 12th).

This isn’t the first time that the cutting edge jeans brand (and one of the pioneers in the premium denim business), has teamed with another designer – Zac Posen, Azzedine Alaïa, and Pucci have all done well-received collections in the past.

The Jonathan Adler collection is divided into three themes: Deluxe (casual-beach), Rustic (modern, earthy), and Pop (bright, preppy) — each with its own men’s and women’s look, for a total of six jeans and six tops. The collection will retail from $90 – $210.

I have a feeling that this is the first of many fashion-directed steps for Jonathan Adler, and that in the coming year or two we may just see fashion accessories in his stores.
