All the January 2021 Magazine Covers We Loved and Hated

After reviewing the 2020 covers of major magazines, we discovered a substantial increase in diversity. But we’re worried that rise is only temporary. And by the looks of the January 2021 covers that have dropped thus far, we’re right. So far the vast majority of January 2021 issues feature white cover subjects. There isn’t a lot of diversity when it comes to size and gender, either. On the plus side, ELLE U.K. delivered a beautiful and groundbreaking shot of an embracing Aweng and Alexus Ade-Chuol. For most of 2020 mags had to get creative with their covers. But the new year is bringing back classic photoshoots. Unfortunately, many shots showcase styling better suited to summer than winter. We’re also gifted great shots of modeling legends Twiggy and Kate Moss. We’ll just have to see what February 2021 brings.
