The Ladylike Blouse Trend

Nothing quite ties a look together like a romantic blouse, complete with a bow-front tie or ruffled neckline. This womenswear essential was seen on prim and proper housewives in the 50s, which they wore with voluminous circle skirts, and trousers in the 70s when workwear was introduced.

Women have many more options now when it comes to wearing ladylike blouses; fabrics range from fine silks to love-worn cotton, and they can be found in almost any print. A soft chiffon is nice, too.  Find one in a sharp color or with a translucent neckline, and also keep an eye out for a blouse in a retro paisley print or polka-dotted pattern from the 80s.
