Get the Look: Spring 2012 From the Runway to Your Closet

Just because the look we want is walking down the runway months before it actually comes out in stores, doesn’t mean we can’t bring it home with us tomorrow. After seeing amazing looks strutting down the catwalk at this season’s New York Fashion Week, we just can’t wait until next spring to wear them. Autumn leaves or not, the weather changes daily and there’s still plenty of time to put a little “spring” in your step. Check out some of these designer duds from Fashion Week along with their current counterparts that are ready and waiting to take home this fall.

Rolando Santana’s sexy but sophisticated two-piece look with long fringe swaying back and forth is almost a perfect match for this Blaque Label Cher’s Choice fringe top ($85). Both looks reflect a great mix of retro and modern appeal that makes a woman stand out without screaming for attention.

Designer label Nomia nails the sheer trend that seems to be everywhere. At Topshop, pick up this Corset panel midi skirt ($120) for a look that’s as demure as it is sultry and confident.

How do you add edge and youth to a more conservative look? Just ask Anne Bowen. She hits the mark with this piece, using a gradient fade in color to make the look fresh for the flowing blouse, while keeping it body-hugging for the floor-length bottom. Young, Fabulous & Broke have a total grasp of this concept as well with their strapless Tania dress ($229).

Rubin & Chapelle had a gorgeous presentation full of elegant satin pieces in gorgeous tones like this soothing, yet bold green hue. Adding a twist to the dress by tying the fabric at the waist definitely completed the chic, yet relaxed look. This aesthetic gives the wearer comfort and ease, but still exudes confidence as does this Edna dress by Diane Von Furstenberg ($375).

Open shoulders are sexy on most women. Althea Harper’s collection had several garments that revealed bare shoulders on the runway, like this light and airy piece with a beautiful drape. We found a similar dress by Akiko ($204) in a vibrant red hue.

Cynthia Rowley’s catwalk was filled with florals galore! Traditionally, floral patterns are thought to be somewhat girly, but today’s florals are on a more fashion-forward level, appearing on everything from jackets to pants. Get the look with these floral pants from Grey Antics ($126).
