Boutique of the Week: UK Online Vintage Seller, Love Miss Daisy

We caught up with Laura Kate to find out more about her love for fashion, and to fuel our latest vintage obsession!

Laura Kate Bradley: Fairly relaxed, as I don’t follow trends or wear vintage outfits all of the time either. I mix vintage with high street, and wear whatever I feel comfortable in, and whatever suits me.

tFS: Do you have any fashion inspirations or particular style icons?

LKB: I love Brigitte Bardot — she always looked so effortlessly foxy!

tFS: We know that you love fashion, but do you have any other passions?

LKB: Yes, we are both very keen bakers, and have a small cupcake business! I am also a qualified massage therapist and I have recently taken up photography. I think it’s really important to keep discovering and enjoying new things. I used to work in television and fashion PR before launching the website. You never know what you might be good at unless you give it a try!

tFS: So, tell our readers about your vintage store, Love Miss Daisy?

LKB: We aim to provide beautiful, wearable, high quality, original vintage, cherry picked by us from around the world. We source our vintage everywhere from the UK to Paris to California, and we hand pick every item ourselves. Our customers tell us they love that our vintage is eye catching and original in style, yet completely wearable today.

tFS: How would you describe your typical customer?

LKB: I don’t think we have a ‘typical customer’ so to speak, as we seem to attract a wide variety of age groups with different budgets, styles and tastes, which is exactly what we wanted to achieve.

tFS: Which kinds of items would you describe as your best sellers?

LKB: 1940s and 1950s dresses are by far our most popular. 1950s day and evening dresses, more specifically.

tFS: What would you label as your most unique items?

LKB: Every item we sell is unique! Every item is a one-off.

tFS: What can you offer that your competitors can’t?

LKB: Online vintage sellers don’t tend to see each other as competition due to the very fact that every item is a one-off. We are more than happy to recommend customers to a fellow website if we don’t happen to have exactly what they’re looking for. There is a lovely community of vintage sellers on Twitter in particular, who are all very supportive of each other. Having said that, we are well known for our lovely range of vintage wedding dresses, particularly our 1940s and 1950s collections. We are based in York, England, and we’re happy to make appointments for brides to come and try on our bridal gowns.

Laura also informed us that over the last four years, Love Miss Daisy has had many customers from around the globe, and they’d love for this audience to continue growing. So, if you’re a vintage fan, or even a bride-to-be looking for a unique wedding dress, rest assured that Love Miss Daisy ships worldwide.
