STYLESHAKE: DESIGN YOUR OWN CLOTHES

Recently, celebrities have been taking a break from their recording studio and film sets and opting to spend their days in the studio to produce their own collections. Celebrity-designer collaborations, capsule collections, and full-on labels are becoming increasingly frequent. Even Lindsay Lohan was recently appointed Creative Director of Ungaro, which naturally sparked widespread controversy. But why should celebrities steal the limelight and be the only ones to try their hand at designing? That’s where StyleShake.com comes in.

StyleShake allows you to take the reigns and express your creativity through fashion design. As the world’s first online creative platform, users can design their own unique garment and have it delivered directly to their door. It allows you to create your own version of a favorite catwalk look or trend, and have comething that’s uniquely yours.

I decided to take StyleShake for a spin and put my creativity to the test. With a plethora of different fabrics, colors, embellishments and trimmings, StyleShake is a fashionista’s playground.  You can experiment with different sleeves, necklines, and finishing touches to make the perfect design.

After toying with different styles, creative directions, colors, and sleeves, I decided I was eager to create a dress for the looming winter season. I opted for a dark, romantic frock with poet sleeves and a layered skirt. Box pleats in a gorgeous wine shade adorned the waist, and a keyhole neckline added a subtle sexiness to the dress.

When I came home to a package from StyleShake, I tore it open excitedly awaiting the final result. How would it fit? Would it be flattering? What about the quality? To my delight, the dress was expertly constructed, of superb quality – and flattering. Fit and quality plague the minds of any discerning woman, and StyleShake offers their own “couture service” which allows you to submit exact measurements for the perfect fit to your body.

With terms like “Recessionista” cropping up, it’s no doubt we’re all being a little more wary with our spending. Dresses start from £42.00, tops £29.00, and skirts £33.00, so you are getting all these extra benefits at high street prices. Made in England, designed by you…
