Fall’s Top Runway Color Trends: The Bold, Bright and Beautiful

It’s long been understood that fall is the time to bring out your cozy colors. And by cozy, we mean safe; the blacks, navys and grays that you can get lost in and be totally unself-conscious wearing. This is the time for your coffee shop attire, right? Sink into a baggy sweater, scone and some crazy sweet latte while catching up on email. No need to sit up straight in that skimpy sundress. While that’s all well and good, designers this season are challenging you to don color. Sure you might be tempted to keep your posture in mind, but it doesn’t have to be intimidating. There are still plenty of ways you can stay comfy while being the bright spot in your barrista’s day. 

Take a cue from some of our favorite designers. It’s not about bodycon, but showing off your style in a way that gets you noticed for your skills mixing up shape and form. Ralph Lauren and Stella McCartney used purple to amazing effect, one keeping to slim layers, mixing textures, the other keeping it ultra simple with a flowing dress that could be belted or worn loose, depending on your mood.
