I started my blog about a year and a half ago, on a cold and rainy day in Cape Town, South Africa. I lived in Africa for four years, and truly felt hidden away from the rest of the world. So I started my blog, as an outlet where I could connect with people from different countries, sharing my love for fashion and expressing myself through clothing.

I think clothing and dressing is a form of art, and just like art, showcasing and sharing it is a way of self-expression and realization. I don’t think my blog has really changed since I began.  I think my style has matured a little bit, but for the most part, I’ve remained constant. At the moment, I’m just struggling to find someone to take pictures, as before I had my ex-boyfriend and brother as my photographers.  But I will find a way to overcome this dilemma.

I simply post what I love, what is inspiring me, to show people that you don’t have to spend heaps of money on designer labels to find your own personal style. I know I don’t do anything ground-breaking, but for me I simply want to express my passions and to connect with like-minded individuals who share the same loves and beliefs. I am a pretty simple girl, and would be happy if just a handful of people were reading my blog. I blog because I love it, and whatever follows is a complete blessing.

What fashion sites do you read daily?

Too many! But ones that are daily’s include: Garance Dore, Fashionologie, Fashionista, WWD, and at least 30-40 blogs that are in my Google Reader and Bloglovin!

Minimalistic, simple, masculine, with hints of feminine color and appeal.

Who are your favorite labels and designers?

In a dream world my closet would be filled with: Chanel, Stella McCartney, Chloe, Celine , Burberry Prorsum , Calvin Klein…in reality it’s more like Zara, H&M, Urban Outfitters, vintage, and Topshop.

My Moleskine, and Korres lip balm

Where do you want to doing in five years?

I just recently moved to New York, and am attending The Fashion Institute of Technology. My major is fashion marketing and merchandising, but to be perfectly honest, I have no idea what I want to do with it. I feel like I know what I don’t want to do, but the job that I will have has not been created yet.

I actually learned in my fashion business class that 70% of our jobs in the next few years have not been discovered!. WOW. Therefore, I feel like I fit into that mold. I have such a deep passion for fashion and humanitarian work, and somehow want to tie those two differing worlds together. Huge inspirations to me are Lauren Bush with FEED, and Natalia Vodianova, with her Naked Heart Foundation.

I definitely want to make my mark, but give back ten fold at the same time. So in five years, I would  still love to be living in New York, hopefully find my dream man and get married. I just be want to be living passionately, and to be excited every morning for work. I never want to feel like work is a burden or is a “job”, I want it to be an extension of myself and to be rejuvenated and inspired everyday by what I do.
