What’s the easiest way to add a retro, rocker edge to a Plain Jane hairdo? Bangs.

Runway shows were sporting the look for Fall 2010, both with natural fringe and heavy clip on hairpieces.
It’s the easiest way to brighten up a face as long as you get the right cut.
Whether you want to sport a framed face like Nicole Richie, a wispy, vintage look like Zooey Deschanel or some serious, blunt bangs seen on the runways, this hairstyle is definitely a show stopper for fall.
Cynthia Steffe highlighted her collection with models in heavy black make-up, nude lips and clip on, thick bangs that almost covered the eyes completely (left). A short, sleek, bowl cut bang looks youthful and elegant at Jen Kao (right).
Erin Fethersten took cues from her own hairstyle and implemented bangs into her runway show this season. A blunt bang and straight, long locks complimented her adorable dresses (left). Retro rocker is appropriate for Gwen Stefani’s LAMB collection. Teased locks in rollers look Stefani-cool, with heavy bangs and dark make-up (right).
A shorter bang is harder to pull back on those hotter days so think about an eye skimming length that’s not too thick. It will take years off the face and brighten up your fall look. Just make sure your stylist understands the look you are going for, and what works for your particular face before those scissors come out!
