Paris Fashion Week Spring 2014 Hits & Misses: Part 3 (Forum Buzz)

THE MISSES:

Chanel

“Well… with 88 looks I guess it’s normal that this collection is all over the place? There’re some nice pieces here and there but it’s an overall mess. With certain peaks of ugliness that are just… beyond.” [mistress_f]

“Once again the set outshined the clothes.” [reesewu]

“Did Pantone sponsor the last few looks?” [KookyQuirk]

Alexander McQueen

“Absolutely horrendous. Disgusting collection. Nothing compelling whatsoever about these monstrous clothes at all. To top it all off, everything from color palette to fabric selection looks cheap, cheap, cheap!!!” [dior_couture1245]

“Tragic. Probably one of the worst collections of the season,” [mistress_f]

“It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I look at the collection. It’s unfortunate that [Sarah] Burton is not moving the brand forward in the right direction. The magic, drama and eccentricity of McQueen is clearly not here.” [Razzer]

Saint Laurent Paris

“Each season I always give Hedi [Slimane] the benefit of the doubt and think he will finally display something amazing… but this is beginning to feel like a bit of a slap in the face.” [rougevalentino]

“Cheap looking clothes with a huge price tag.” [Nymphaea]

“I think it’s time to resurface the old ‘Slimane: good designer, or just a good stylist?’ debate that existed even when he was doing wonderful things at Dior Homme.” [HeatherAnne]
