Joe Zee is Back with New Reality TV Show

The Sundance Channel is a go-to for thought provoking fashion programming that goes beyond the often contrived drama of shows like Project Runway. With insightful documentaries on the likes of Carla Bruni, Hubert de Givenchy, Kate Moss, and many others, and countless engrossing series including Girl on the Run and The Day Before, it’s with much anticipation that fans of the channel and Joe Zee await the premiere of his new fashion series, All on the Line. Each hour-long episode of this eight-part series, features ELLE creative director Joe Zee in an arm-lock with a designer who, for one reason or another, is struggling to grow his or her business. Ironically, the second episode features former Project Runway contestant Kara Janx.

Zee has already proven that he makes for great television (anyone who needs convincing need only watch this hilarious video), and with so many designers barely making ends meet, this program offers unique insight into what serious industry power players suggest to tackle issues that many up-and-comers face (for example, how to stay true to your vision while being commercially viable).

I was sent clips from a few of the episodes and while there are inevitably some made-for-TV moments (think going to Times Square to critique what pedestrians are wearing), Zee and the buyers he introduces the designers to offer constructive advice that will entertain non-fashion types and be helpful for those looking to break into the industry.

All On The Line will air on Tuesdays from March 29th to May 17th at 10pm ET/PT.
