Fashion Editor Street Style: New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 (Forum Buzz)

It wouldn’t be Fashion Week if Anna Dello Russo didn’t stop in with a statement-making outfit. FashionPower called her billowing, feathery Yves Saint Laurent coat the “first misstep of the season,” but others heralded the arrival of her fearless fashion choices.

Anna hit the streets of New York with fellow Italian Giovanna Battaglia.

“Pink coat with a pink Céline bag. I DIE,” Label Basher posted.

“They both look like fashion caricatures you see in films,” saann quipped.

Joanna Hillman threw on a long fur scarf over her multicolored mini and grey jacket.

“I think she's had fur with every outfit!” Not Plain Jane exclaimed.

Joanna proved Not Plain Jane wrong and took a break from the fur with her next outfit, which was mix of blue, grey and brown.

Zanna Roberts Rossi had a Fashion Week reunion with former Marie Claire coworker Taylor Tomasi Hill (who is now the Artistic Director of Moda Operandi).

“Love these two together,” Label Basher posted. “Glad to see them still hang out even though they no longer work together. Both look awesome. Taylor totally pulls off those super wide pants.”

Seeing Taylor from another angle, Not Plain Jane wrote: “SUPER outfit; I love it!”

Blueberry Muffin was only halfway there: “Not loving the pants but rest is lovely,” she posted.

Taylor wore a pair of printed pink pants from her Lane Crawford collection with a neutral green jacket and a black fur stole. 

Not Plain Jane wrote: “I love those heels she's been wearing; they look fabulous with those pink printed pants, and how does she throw a green jacket over that and make it look so good? Sigh.”

Shala Monroque attended a Fashion Week party in a glam gold Prada mini-dress from their Spring 2009 collection.

Miroslava paired cropped leather overalls with a geometric-print top, a statement necklace, and nude pumps.

Her desire to show off her outfit was more than her will to stay warm. “I love the leather overalls, but yes: put on a jacket girl!” Not Plain Jane demanded.

Anna Wintour stepped out in a fur coat from Céline’s last Fall collection.

“Did she just buy out the new Madison Avenue Céline boutique?!” asked mikeijames.

If she did, then get fashion doesn’t have a problem with it. “Only Prada and Céline coats; love it!” he wrote.

Anna was all smiles in the front row at Michael Kors.

Mary Kate Steinmiller kept her look neutral in brown leather pants, a white long-sleeved tee, and a collared jacket topped by a fur vest.

Joanna layered up against the chilly New York weather in slim pants, a polka dot blouse worn under a cream knit sweater, and a warm fur jacket. She accessorized with wedged booties, tortoiseshell sunglasses, and a black bucket bag with metallic detailing.

Joanna mixed an abstract tribal print top with slim black pants. The fur detailing of her military green coat infuses it with a bit of luxury and shows that fur is a big trend this winter.

Joanna went for fur once again to stave off the cold in a long hooded fur vest that came down to mid-thigh. She accessorized the navy jumpsuit she wore underneath with black lace-up booties, a leopard print bag, tortoiseshell sunglasses and an oversized gold horn pendant.

In a close-up shot of the previous outfit, Joanna may have been windblown, but she still looked chic and kept a smile on her face.

Street style stars Taylor and Joanna smiled for the camera while showing off outfits with strategic pops of color.

Leiwen loved Taylor’s look: “Amazing outfit, love the pants, she totally pulls them off,” she wrote.

It’s no secret that Taylor is a big fan of sneakers, so it was no surprise that she stepped out in a pair of high-tops paired with an avant-garde maxi skirt, simple white turtleneck, and black leather jacket.

“I LOVE her in high-tops!” minstinguett exclaimed.

Zanna put her own spin on menswear, looking simultaneously polished and relaxed as she took in the shows.

“What a great outfit,” wrote Label Basher. “She also looks gorgeous with that hair,” she added.

Giovanna was fashionably warm in a tailored grey coat worn with taupe over-the-knee boots and a dramatic fur scarf. She accessorized with a vintage camouflage Christian Dior saddle bag.

Shala went for a relatively casual look in slim black pants, kitten-heeled Mary Janes and a plaid parka with fur trim.

The always cool Kate Lanphear paid no mind to the falling snow as she made her way through New York City.

Anna Wintour expertly carried the drama of her Prada snakeskin coat with a fur collar. She wore a Marni dress underneath with knee-high boots.

Get fashion called the look "very risky but very great; Anna at her best!"

Jenna Lyons may not technically be an editor (she's the Creative Director and Head Designer for J. Crew), but this look was too good not to post.
