Rebecca Minkoff S/S 2011 Backstage

Inspired by the designer’s new ad campaign, the models’ hair was fittingly styled to look effortlessly beachy.

The team started by applying either Bumble & Bumble Prep or Tonic, depending on the texture of the model’s hair – Tonic has more oil in it, so it was used on the girls who had dry hair.

The casual-sexy hair look was completed with Thickening Spray, Styling Creme, and a rough blow dry in which the stylists used their fingers.

In an interesting twist, a few of the girls had a long earring sewn into their hair with elastic thread.

A variety of Revlon and L’Oreal nude polish shades were used on the nails, depending on which particular hue suited each individual model.

As for the make-up, that was Stila’s responsibility. Their team was let by Sarah Lucero who described the look as “worn in” with lots of rusty colors that one would find when traveling, exploring canyons, or hanging out at the beach.

The sun-kissed look was kept super matte, and Lucero stressed that the aptly named Prime Color in Bronze Babe was the key product used (it’s so versatile you can use it on cheeks, eyes, lips…pretty much anywhere).

Prime Color Caramel, Dune Eyeshadow, Prime Color Per Suede, Pigalle Eyeshadow/Tiger’s Eye, and Kajal Pencil were used to create the eye look, while Prime Color in Bronze Babe was applied to the cheeks. Long Wear Lip Color in a shade called In the Nude was applied to the lips, and then finished with some dabs of Prime Color in Bronze Babe. To finish off the look, Glamour eyes mascara was used.
