JEWELRY AND BEAUTY EXPANSION

Legendary French jewelry and watch company Van Cleef & Arpels has opened its 36th boutique. This one, located in Milan, is a bi-level 1,835 square foot store “designed to reflect the welcoming and warm atmosphere of a luxurious home, furnished with light green silk sofas, gray moquette, dark wood and lacquered details.” Helene Skinas de Bourbon-Parme, head of marketing and communications at Van Cleef & Arpels, said that the store opening reflected the French luxury brand’s desire to focus on growing their business in Italy.

The store is being celebrated with four specially created Van Cleef & Arpels one-of-a-kind clip brooches inspired by composer Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” concertos. Each pin boasts a white gold nymph wrapped with colored festoons. The four pins will be sold together.

Also branching-out is Anthony for Men. Luckily for penny pinchers, Anthony is branching out in a more affordable way. In an attempt to expand into the women’s market, the brand will be launching their first unisex brand called Shaveworks at select Duane Reade outlets and at Sephora. The first product to launch is called The Cool Fix and it will retail for $25 for 5.3 oz.

The Cool Fix is designed to treat ingrown hairs, razor bumps, razor burn and redness, and it will also launch this month at Sephora where it will be sold exclusively for the rest of the year (one of the few men’s brands that Sephora stocks is Anthony for Men). As for Duane Reade, for now over 250 stores will be getting shipments of 18 items divided into Anthony Sport for Men and Anthony Body Essentials.

Anthony Sport for Men features nine items – face cleanser, eye cream, face scrub, SPF 15 face lotion, pre-shave oil, shaving cream, aftershave, and hand cream.  The line is priced between $7.99 and $13.99. The Body Essentials line includes body sprays ($17.99) and shower gels ($14.99) each in four scents. Both lines also have travel sets for $19.99 each.
