Get Taylor Schilling’s Blue Steel Makeup Look at Home

Who: Taylor Schilling

Where: SiriusXM Studios

Why we like it: We’ll be the first to admit that this is a strong look, but bright eyes keep popping up everywhere from the runway to the red carpet. Shades of blue were a huge trend on the catwalk last season, but we must admit that we weren’t sure it would translate to real life. Taylor sure proved us wrong. This steely light blue still packs a color punch without being too outrageous. It definitely makes a statement and could be great for an end-of-summer BBQ or festival.

How to get it at home: Start with a summer-friendly base, such as Hourglass’ Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint ($55), which offers buildable coverage so you can apply more where needed. Then add a touch of color back to your cheeks using Clinique’s Chubby Stick Moisturizing Cheek Colour Balm in 02 Robust Rhubarb ($21). Get Taylor’s full brows using a gel, such as Tarte’s Colored Clay Tinted Brow Gel ($21).

Now onto the eyes. In an effort to simplify this look, we’re looking to one of our old favorites, Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Cream in 25 Pastel Blue ($23). Use an angled eyeliner or compact smudge brush for precise application and, as always, start with a bit of product and work your way up to the intensity that you like. When you’re done, run over it with a clean, dry eyeshadow brush as it will soften the edges, which is especially important when using bright colors. Frame your eyes with a dark mascara, such as Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara ($22), and if you’re looking to translate this into an evening look, try using a navy liner to further define the eyes. Finish off your look with a tinted balm, such as Fresh’s Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Sugar Petal Tinted ($22.50).
