Bianca Jagger Worthy Glam Backstage at GEORGINE

MAC’s Gordon Espinet headed up the beauty team. “The key word for this look is ‘elegant.’ This is a woman who is spending her day on a yacht in the South of France, she doesn’t have time to fuss around with makeup — she’s on vacation! — but she wants to look glamorous. There’s an effortlessness to this look.”

Fresh skin was very important, said Espinet, but he wanted to create depth, which is why in addition to evening out skin tone and covering imperfections, highlighter was used. An eye gloss in a dark red tone was applied to the models’ lids to create a smoky effect, while Lip Erase was applied to lips to get out the color. Instant Gold Lustreglass was then applied on models’ lips. “We really wanted texture coming out of the eyes and lips. Again, this a girl who keeps it simple; she puts on gloss and walks out — there is no mascara! Mascara and eye gloss are enemies; it becomes a sticky, wet mess.”

The hair team was led by Rick Pipino, who said in keeping with designer Georgine Ratelband‘s inspiration, the looks were “very Bianca Jagger/Jerry Hall 70s South of France.” This translated into barrel curls that were brushed out with select models getting head scarves for the ultimate jet-setting glamazon finishing touch.
