Milan Fashion Week Beauty REVISED

Bottega Veneta
Healthy, glowy skin — courtesy of Pat McGrath via highlighter and pink blush — was paired with an undone ballerina bun that was adorned with floral-embellished headbands and combs at Bottega Veneta. A few pieces of hair were left out in the front to frame the face to achieve the “gym hair” look, according to hairstylist Guido Palau.

Dolce & Gabbana
The Dolce & Gabbana show was influenced by Spain. There was tons of red on the runway and it didn’t just apply to the clothes. Models (including Fashion Week favorite Kendall Jenner) wore hair in a feminine chignon, which was pulled back over the ears in a low bun. Hairstylist Guido Palau finished the look by accessorizing each bun with signature Dolce & Gabbana crowns, real roses and carnations.

Giorgio Armani
Eyelids were dusted with a combination of taupe, silver, beige, gold and pink backstage at Giorgio Armani with the use of a neutral-hued palette set to launch in February 2015 along with the new makeup collection called Armani Runway. Hair brought us back to NYFW for a minute — it was sectioned into three cornrows that were meant to look undone and natural.

Gucci
Gucci’s new makeup line finally made its debut on the runway in Milan. Slated for a full release next month, the inimitable Pat McGrath helped to create the highly-anticipated collection. The look was a bronzy eye, meant to look natural and simple, using Gucci’s Magnetic Color Shadow Quad in Tuscan Storm ($65) over the lids, and the Magnetic Color Shadow Mono in Iconic Gold ($37) along the lower lash line. Hair was product-less and pulled back into a ponytail by Orlando Pita to finish off the effortless look.

Max Mara
Graphic inspiration came in the form of an orange/pink eyeshadow cat eye by makeup pro Tom Pecheux and pin-straight hair by Sam McKnight at Max Mara.

Missoni
There were no bad hair days at Missoni when hairstylist Paul Hanlon wrapped models’ hair in patterned fabric. Using Moroccanoil Mousse ($29), Hanlon pulled hair back into high buns to allow the fabric to be piled high and faces to brighten up. The second focal point of the look was the use of MAC Lipstick in Dangerous and Relentlessly Red ($16 each).

Moschino
Completing the Barbie look at Moschino meant lots of lashes, pink lips and big hair. Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni used two sets of MAC 32 Lash ($17) on the top lash line and 43 Lash ($17) on the bottom (followed by multiple coats of mascara, of course). Lips were coated in a custom pink color, which was made up of MAC’s Lipmix in White, Yellow and Magenta ($15 each), and sealed with Lipglass ($15). Hairstylist Paul Hanlon ensured hair was large and curly by using synthetic wigs that were fittingly over-the-top.

Prada
A lot was happening at Prada: Lara Stone and Gemma Ward made comebacks on the catwalk, and backstage Guido Palau cut away at models’ hairlines to get “boyish sideburns” that were slicked along the face using water. Pat McGrath kept the look tough when it came to makeup with exaggerated winged liner and drawn-in skinny eyebrows.

Emilio Pucci
The look was 70s glam at Emilio Pucci, and it was gorgeous. Hairstylist Orlando Pita made hair wavy, shiny and subtly sexy, while makeup artist Lisa Butler used a mix of MAC products for a girly pink lip and fresh complexions. Eyes were lined in Technakohl Liner in Graphblack ($16) and Chromagraphic Pencil ($16), which gave a Twiggy-like effect, and then finished with a swipe of Fluidline in brown ($16) on the crease line.

Roberto Cavalli
Pat McGrath described the beauty look at Roberto Cavalli as a “full-throttle Cavalli look, but not necessarily using black.” Using a mix of cream, powder and pencils, McGrath achieved a sexy smoky eye comprised of shades of brown. Hair was blown out by Guido Palau, and kept simple with a center part.
