In what should have been the comeback of the decade, Gemma Ward’s return to modeling in 2014 left us underwhelmed. Complete with a Prada advertising campaign, but only a single Vogue cover to add to her stellar portfolio, Gemma now makes a triumphant and overdue return to Vogue Australia‘s front cover by starring on the newly unveiled January 2016 edition, outdoing her previous appearance. Photographed by Lachlan Bailey, the 28-year-old mother of one looks ethereal wearing Givenchy Haute Couture styled by Christine Centenera in the soft, pink and feminine image.
Of course, our forum members descended on the thread like wildfire. “Now THIS is what you call a comeback cover! Wow! Laid-back and beautiful. Let that solar system cover of hers be buried and this be her comeback cover,” congratulated MON.
Nepenthes shared the same sentiments, praising, “This cover is everything. Gemma looks so relaxed and present. This, to me, is her best work since her comeback.”
“I love the softness of the styling in contrast with her fierce expression. Very fresh and summery cover…” added kokobombon in admiration.
In agreement was Elite13: “Such a powerful stare. Such a beautiful soul. I love this cover and I love Gemma!”
Also showing the cover some love was Nomar, sharing, “This is pretty and I love the soft colours.”
“Just stunning. What a beautiful start of the year for Vogue Australia! Hope it will be a good year for the amazing Gemma Ward too,” echoed narcyza.
“I can’t get enough of Gemma. She could be on every cover of Vogue around this entire globe and I would be happy!!!” hailed Bertrando3.
