After some major staff changes over the past few months (former fashion director Anne-Marie Curtis was appointed the magazine’s new editor-in-chief), UK ELLE is on the right track. Victoria Beckham appeared on last month’s cover while a radiant Damaris Goddrie had the honors for April. Now, Lana Del Rey makes her debut on the British fashion monthly for June 2017, captured by photographer Thomas Whiteside, while perched on a patch of grass wearing Gucci.
The majority of our forum members gave the cover rave reviews. “I like that cover shot, with its laid-back mood, she’s just hanging around on a summer evening,” admired tigerrouge.
“Ah, Lana! Such a beautiful summer cover,” added a delighted StockholmFW.
“I always have a soft spot for LDR! She photographs like dream! The subscribers cover (below) is beautiful as well… definitely will have a copy of this issue,” announced fluxxx.
Also more than satisfied with the outcome was LastNight, stating, “Lana is so beautiful. I love the whole vibe of this, it’s really lovely. Can’t wait to hear her new album!”
Benn98 showed the cover some love too, expressing, “Very brave from the new EIC, any old-guard editors would have switched the subscriber and newsstand covers. I like both! Hope they’ll lock Whiteside down for this edition, he really managed to show us a softer side to Lana and he’s versatile enough to deal with a range of cover subjects.”
“I’m sold! I can’t wait to buy this issue, I love Lana’s music and the editorial seems so good – will buy! Can not wait, an amazing cover,” wrote an overjoyed glamrockgal.
