In the vein of the Cole Haan x Nike collaboration, Nine West has announced plans to work together with running shoe company New Balance to release a line of ‘active fashion’ footwear.
The collaboration is an effort to combine the stylishness of Nine West and the functionality of a New Balance shoe, as well for both companies to appeal to a broader audience.
Tentatively called ‘New Balance for Nine West’, the collaboration’s release date is slated just in time for Spring 2009. The NB x NW line will consist of about twenty different styles, available for anywhere between $70 and $100. A variation of styles will be available at both Nine West and New Balance stores. The two companies will merge ideas marketing and advertising, and pay royalties to one another and both will be responsible for collectively manufacturing different components of the shoe.
