THAKOON ANNOUNCED AS NEXT GO INTERNATIONAL DESIGNER

While I had hoped that Target would be teaming-up with Alexander McQueen as some had been speculating, I am equally excited by the announcement that the mass retailer has turned to the Thai-born, forward-thinking designer Thakoon Panichgul.

The CFDA-nominated designer will be next to design a limited-edition collection for the retailer’s GO International line.

Panichgul, who has previously teamed-up with the GAP to design his own take on the classic white t-shirt, is set to design a womenswear collection that will be available at most Target stores nationwide and online in late December (the wears will be available through the end of January).

Panichgul will follow in the steps of the likes of Proenza Schouler, Paul & Joe, Rogan Gregory, and Richard Chai who just recently debuted his Target collection.

I have high hopes for the collection which I expect will include romantically prim, short dresses, along with innovative prints, and billowing skirts.
