PEACHES FOR PPQ

Peaches Geldof has turned into a popular fashion icon during the past few years. It seems that the hottest trend among celebrities alike, Kate Moss for Topshop for example, is to boast their fashion designing skills so that the general public can look just as stylish as themselves.

Peaches Geldof, the party hopping It girl whose style many fashionista’s adore and covet is the latest to do so. As a regular at London Fashion Week and a dedicated fan of cult label PPQ, it was inevitable that we would see a line from the London turned New York socialite.

“I have always been in love with everything PPQ designed. It got to the point that I knew their aesthetic so well that it was a natural progression to begin working together,” said Peaches.

With her vintage romance meets Goth signature style, Peaches has created a line consisting of handbags, dresses and separates for the London label. Teaming up with PPQ designers, Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker, Geldof has produced her premiere collection with definite fundamentals of the popular trend, gothic and dark.

Percy Parker, founder of PPQ with Amy Molyneaux, told WWD: “It’s a natural progression that Peaches is designing with us; she has always been one of our most confident customers. We have managed to provide her with everything a girl needs to party in, and now we have put our heads together and taken things to the next step.”

Despite scandals centering on Peaches, this is a celebrity collaboration we cannot wait to wear. And to entice us more, there are no obscene price tags to be seen. The collection features a netted circus skirt which has been described as a hip-skimming shape that works with a worn-in tee or a sparkly top. Prom frocks, lace blouses, velvet high waisters and patent bags complete the collection.

The colour palette is a selection of black, white, and peach with the latter colour making the collection more desirable and quirky. It is becoming increasingly evident that Peaches is here to stay. This label is amongst an array of projects Peaches has undertaken including setting up a youth-oriented magazine entitled Disappear Here, of which a documentary was filmed following her whilst setting up the magazine. Presenting NYLON TV with fellow socialite Cory Kennedy, being a columnist for New York fashion magazine NYLON, and being featured in the IT Girl edition of the same magazine solidifies her position of fashionista and fashion icon.
