Tonic, a leading media and ecommerce site focused on effortless activism and social good, has announced the launch of a series of limited edition t-shirts designed by Donna Karan’s Urban Zen. The collection of bamboo and organic cotton t-shirts, which retail for $65 each, will be sold exclusively on www.tonic.com as of April 6th.
Ten percent of every sale will go to The Urban Zen Foundation, a public foundation formed by Karan, and another ten percent will go to The Tonic Foundation, the charitable arm of Tonic that supports causes that Tonic members and customers identify by taking action on www.tonic.com.
There are four tees to choose from: Well Being (healthcare), Save Our Planet (environment), Preserving Cultures (unique culture education), and Future for Our Children (empowerment for our children). Donna Karan noted in a press release that she thinks the t-shirts are great because, aside from benefiting a cause close to her heart, they each feature a distinctive call to action.
Stars like Scarlett Johansson, America Ferrara, Rachel Bilson, and Catherine Zeta Jones already having gotten their hands on some Tonic tees (they’ve all got shirts from Tonic’s previous collections designed by Luella Bartley and Tara Subkoff), and high sales are anticipated for the latest Tonic charitable collaboration.
