CHANGES AT HABITUAL

Habitual, the renowned premium denim company, recently announced the appointment of the label’s new Creative Director Lee Holman. Hailing from fashion power houses Burberry, Abercrombie & Fitch, Levi’s, and Paul Smith, British import Holman brings extensive design experience to Habitual.

For his first Habitual Fall 2009 collection, Holman drew inspiration from the streets of New York City, Los Angeles, and London, mixing modern designs with vintage-infused washes and distressed detailing.

“My main intention was to make a collection for Habitual that was relevant for today’s customer in the present retail climate. Habitual is one of the original L.A. premium denim brands in the U.S. and it has kept its integrity and values through the years,” states Holman. He further noted that his approach for designing the Habitual collection includes defining the core products of the season, and building up the collection from those pieces.

Since the label’s inception eight years ago, Habitual has continued to experience immense success and has a growing number of celebrity fans, including Sarah Jessica Parker and Katie Holmes.

“At Burberry, it was the trench coat and at Habitual, it is the 5-pocket jean,” noted Holman. By refining the silhouette and details of the core 5-pocket design, Habitual has perfected the fit of their jeans. Holman also introduces a selection of tailored plaid, twill, and herringbone pieces. For Spring 2010, the brand will offer a well-rounded collection of men’s and women’s apparel in addition to its classic denim styles.
