David Sims Captures Emma Stone, the Girls of HAIM and a Handful of Models for Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2023 Campaign

Nicolas Ghesquière is remaining loyal to David Sims, as the creative director of Louis Vuitton welcomes back the British photographer once again as his mainline campaign photographer of choice. We have now witnessed Sims capture several advertising campaigns under the creative control of Ghesquière (including Fall 2021, Spring 2022 and Fall 2022 to name a select few) and he’s back for Fall 2023. This time around, we’re venturing out of the studio and out into the French capital of Paris. The actress (and LV brand ambassador since 2017) Emma Stone makes an appearance in the campaign which is an ode to Parisian chic. The cast this season also includes the girls of HAIM and models Annemary Aderibigbe, Capucine Clowes, Feya Voishcheva, Ida Heiner, Qisi Feng, Sacha Quenby, Samile Bermannelli and Valentina Castro.

Members of our forums, however, weren’t so fond of the outcome. “LV spent like $20 on this campaign,” stated an unamused Nimsay.
“I enjoy the vast majority of Louis Vuitton’s advertising campaigns for their accessories and capsule collections, yet the mainline offerings always fall short for me. This season, as expected, is no different and I’m sat here wondering how on Earth this all came to fruition. To describe this as basic would be an understatement,” voiced vogue28.
“I am sorry but I literally laughed out loud looking at Emma’s photo. I mean god, where to start? Her contract must have included a campaign and then decided to put her in without any thinking. Why can’t they just come up with something good? It’s so baffling,” complained TaylorBinque.
Also far from impressed was Lola701, adding: “Something is off for me with this campaign. I wish it had more energy in a way. I also wish the outfits chosen made more sense with the vibe of the campaign!”
“This is so bad,” exclaimed 90sFan.
