Brigitte Niedermair Photographs an Ode to Parisian Elegance for Christian Dior’s Fall 2023 Campaign

Make no mistake that Maria Grazia Chiuri favors a select few female fashion photographers, when it comes to enlisting them to shoot Christian Dior’s advertising campaign. Since MGC kick-started her tenure as the first female creative director of the legendary French fashion house back in 2016, we’ve encountered the works of a whole host of creative female forces such as Brigitte LacombePaola MattioliElina Kechicheva, Alice Mann and Brigitte Niedermair to name a few. Therefore, for Fall 2023, it has came as no surprise to see Neidermair back behind the lens of a Dior campaign for the umpteenth time. This season, fresh faces Ana Oliveira, Maryel Uchida, Florencia Mayer, Sophia Lisboa and Abeny Nhial take center stage throughout the series of campaign images which are an ode to Parisian charm and elegance.

Nevertheless, members of our forums were far from smitten with the end result. “I don’t understand the model selection. You’d think Christian Dior would have supermodels for their campaigns,” exclaimed Scotty.

“Maria Grazia Chiuri’s casting always falls flat,” TaylorBinque chimed in.

“It’s so bad, it’s offensive: the models, the light, the dead poses, the denim suit, the badly copied Prada looks, the book tote bag…” disapproved yslforever.

Also majorly underwhelmed was vogue28: “Christian Dior’s advertising campaigns under MCG have become so unbelievably painful. Always such subpar and lackluster casting, in addition to the over usage of the same rooster of photographers like Brigitte Niedermair. To think of those ELECTRIC campaigns we used to get under John Galliano with the likes of Gisele by Nick Knight!”

“Dior is so flat nowadays, I think they do not care what anyone thinks of the brand,” Urban Stylin voiced.
