You’ll Either Love or Loathe Bad Bunny as Vanity Fair’s October 2023 Cover Star

Radhika Jones has got her finger firmly on the pulse of what’s happening within the world of fashion, entertainment and pop culture, and it’s reflected with the editor’s choice of cover subjects for Vanity Fair. Following the impressive A-list lineup we saw for the magazine’s annual Hollywood issue, 2023’s cover stars have included Gisele Bündchen, Abel Tesfaye (aka The Weeknd), Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Riley Keough. Bad Bunny now graces the publication for October 2023, with the Puerto Rican rapper and singer-songwriter posing for photographer Szilveszter Mako against a textured green studio backdrop. In the intriguing cover photograph, stylist Nicole Chapoteau dressed Bad Bunny in a checkerboard Valentino coat, shirt and pants (also from Valentino) and Bottega Veneta shoes.

Vanity Fair‘s latest garnered mixed feedback from our forum members. “Might be the only Bad Bunny cover I’ve ever liked,” said KINGofVERSAILLES the moment the cover struck.

“I kind of like it. There’s something whimsical about it, like something that would’ve been on an old (Graydon Carter-era) Vanity Fair cover,” chimed in NYLA22.

“I like the fashion element… could be an advert for Dior or something,” kokobombon pointed out.

Yet not everyone was smitten with the outcome. “The cover stars Vanity Fair chooses make sense, but the execution is so… off,” voiced blueorchid.

“Do regular VF readers care about Bad Bunny?” asked Rigida.

“I feel the same way about this guy, that I do about Dua Lipa. His appeal escapes me entirely,” shared mepps.
